Thoughts to Ponder
In this past week things in my life have been changing some. We started back to school and I worked my last Friday cleaning job. As I transition into focusing more on my children again, God has been shifting the way He is speaking to me. I have not been getting as many direct words. However, He is leading me to search more things out and leading me to ponder some things with Him to find the deeper hidden things.
August 22, 2025. I was reading my Bible today and it amazed me how easy it was for God’s people, Israel, to turn away from Him. But, so often we are the same way. It is so easy for us to judge the little faith of the Israelites, or condemn them for falling away time after time. We forget that we live under a better covenant and yet, we fall again and again ourselves. When times get hard or things don’t go as we expect them to, how quickly we turn away. When the world offers us the next new shiny thing, how long does it take for us to chase after it? In our world, we do everything we can to keep our level of comfort. There is a lot that we will give up just to have things easy. God never promised us easy. He said, “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart for I have overcome the world.” A life of righteous living takes dedication and sacrifice. However, it is the only life worth pursuing, because it is a life filled with purpose and a life aligned with God. When we bless His heart with our words and actions, He draws near to us. Let’s lay aside our sin nature which separates us from our Heavenly Father, and put on holiness which causes Him to draw near.
