Encouraging Word #14

This is the word that I heard from God on August 22, 2025.

You are always running, running, running. You spend your days chasing this or that. Yet, I ask you, “Where have you gotten too? Is it a good place filled with peace and rest? No, it is a place full of anxiety, a place where you are stuck on the hamster’s wheel. Always running without an end.” I know that life is busy. You must work to make money so that your family can survive in the world that you live in. I know that many things are pulling at you for your time and attention. In the midst of all of this, I want you to begin to count the moments of goodness in each day. They may be small. However it is those tiny moments that bring joy, a sudden peace, and a reminder that I am good. Enjoy that brief moment of sun on your face, the butterfly that flutters by, that flash of a moment of peace before your next meeting. Notice the smile from a coworker, the hug from your child, or a fresh piece of fruit. All of these things are moments worth counting. If you pause to notice them, you will start to see that there are more moments of goodness in your life than you realized. This will begin to shift something in you and it will cause your feet to run towards Me.

Our society convinces us that are days should be filled to the brim with activity. It tells us that our life’s value is in the things that we accomplish, the name brand items we own, and the positions that we hold. All of these things can be okay, but living a life where we are always chasing the next big thing leaves us exhausted. It also leaves us feeling empty and often times feeling alone. We were created for relationship with God. The time that we spend with Him and the time we spend doing the things He leads us to do, is time well spent. When the focus of our lives is bigger than ourselves, we live a life full of purpose and meaning. It is okay for us to say no to the things that waste our time and take us away from our purpose. There is a blessing in the slowing down and putting our time and energy into the things that truly matter.
