A Word For The Season

Today is the first day of December. On this day and every day until Christmas I like to celebrate the life and death of Christ. I love to remind myself just how great of a blessing knowing Him has been in my life. I also strive to share His love and kindness with those whose lives cross my path in this season. In truth, I try to do that everyday, but as this season tends to be busy, I have to really focus on spreading love and cheer.

How great is the truth that we can have a personal relationship with The One Who has done it all. He is Creator, Sustainer, Lover, Deliverer, and so much more. Yet He calls us His own and is active in every part of our lives.

I want to share the scripture passage that I hold near and dear this month. I always write it out in chalk on our sidewalk in hopes that it will encourage and bless all who read it. I also pray that it will bless you today and give you encouragement for the season.

Isaiah 9:2,6-7  2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined….6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.
